Six-year-old Boy May Achieve ‘The World’s Youngest Computer Programmer’ Title

Have you ever heard that a boy or girl under 10 has gained vast knowledge in one of the most popular programming languages C++ without anyone’s help or going to any training center? I guess, no. A six year old boy Wasik Farhan-Roopkotha from Bangladesh with implausible talent has done it. He has become a computer expert without any formal training. He has gained expertise in simple word processing to programming in C++. Wasik’s family is hoping that his talents will be recognized by Microsoft and Guinness World Records.

Jim Rohn once said, “If you work hard on your job, you can make a living. But if you work harder on yourself than you do on your job, you can make a fortune.” This is especially true for our hero Roopkotha. This January, Wasik Farhan-Roopkotha has turned 6.

When Roopkotha was seven months old he started using his mother’s computer. Around the age of three, he began typing in Microsoft Word and at the age of four, he gained enough knowledge in programming and downloading game emulators. Roopkotha has already mastered several popular video games, including Modern Warfare and Metal Gear Solid by this age.

“I really enjoy playing on the computer and learning new skills. My ambition is to be a computer expert and to work for a big computer firm in the future.” Roopkotha said.

Roopkotha can write sentences on a keyboard efficiently and swiftly without looking at the keyboard. Apart from working in front of computer, he enjoys mixing with other children of his age, plays football and listens music.

“I knew he was very different since his birth. I couldn’t believe my eyes when he began computing when he was just seven months old. Wasik started to play and master many complicated games and started installing them just after he turned two and also started typing in MS Word from around the same time. My son has achieved so much already without any computer training or guidance. He has already gained some knowledge of C++, which is one of the most popular programming languages. He is also able to write sentences on a keyboard efficiently and swiftly without having to look at the keyboard. He has visited several IT institutions in and around Dhaka, who have all said positive things about his talent. As a mother, I dream that in the future he will go on to become a great computer scientist and help to introduce a new episode in the cyber world. If Wasik receives the right support here in Bangladesh and from the best colleges and universities in the world then who knows what he will go on to achieve. I think he is in on the right track at this stage of his development”, Roopkotha’s mother Cynthia Farhan-Risha said.

Guinness World Records said, “We do not monitor such a record in our database at the moment, but Wasik’s family is welcome to make a claim on our website.”

May be in future, we will see this little boy working in Microsoft or Google or some other tech tycoons.
